Red Sea Goatfishes

Parupeneus forsskali

Distribution: Endemic to the Red Sea.

Habitat: Observed in bed or single foraging stirring the sandy bottom with their barbels.

Description: The silver body is covered with a black line running from the mouth, eye covers and ends before the caudal fin.
The tail is pale yellow, covered with a round black spot.

Food: Feeds on invertebrates that live in the sand.
